The newly appointed coach of the Super Eagles, Stephen Keshi, has warned that he will not condone indiscipline from any player in the national team.
Keshi gave the warning on Thursday in Abuja when he was formally unveiled to the public.
“I don’t care whether you play professional league or not, I will not hesitate to send off any player who fails to perform to expectation.
“I promise to give 200 per cent to the success of the team.”
He said most of the players would come from the local clubs to build a vibrant team for the nation.
He expressed satisfaction with the terms of the contract offered by the Nigerian Football Association (NFA), saying that he had gone through it.
He called on Nigerians and stakeholders to support football administration in the country.
When asked how he would work with the four assistant coaches, Keshi said there would be no problem working with them provided “we are targeting the same goal”.
Earlier, the President of the NFA, Aminu Maigari, advised the coach to work hard, to return the Super Eagles to where it ought to be.
“We know Keshi has the will to motivate the team to excel, but the players must have a spirit to succeed.”
Maigari promised not to interfere with the activities of the coach, adding, “he is free to determine his programmes
