It is already an established fact that petite singer, Chidinma Ekile has called it quits with Capital Hills Records but the factor that led to the move has remained a mystery to many. Naij.com can authoritatively reveal that the KORA award-winning singer left after a fallout with the label executives on a proposed new sharing formula. Since Chidinma won the coveted MTN Project Fame Season 2 music competition about seven years ago, she has been signed to Capital Hills Records, a label managed by Clarence Peters and rapper Ill Bliss. The sharing formula from Chidinma’s concerts/shows, endorsements and other sources of revenue generation regarding her music had been 60:40 until about two years ago when the singer agitated for a 70:30 ratio, and her request was reluctantly granted by Clarence and Ill Bliss. But what eventually became the last straw that broke the camel’s back was the beautiful singer’s recent demand for a 90:10 sharing ratio, a proposal that was instantly rejected by Clarence and Ill Bliss. The singer who is currently touring Europe with her new team, is said to be consedering Flavour’s label. We will see how this end.
